Pine warbler (dendroica pinus)
Posted by adminNov 19

I took a quick walk this morning ~ taking note of the groups of Yellow-rumped Warblers, Chickadees and a few Eastern Bluebirds, but then a quick flash of yellow caught my eye. I quietly moved a little closer and discovered two or three of these little guys checking for small insects and seeds along the ground and in the trees.
They were a thrill to watch and they didn’t seem to be bothered by me ~ but I knew right away my biggest challenge would be identifying them. Off and on, throughout the day, I’ve made a few quick searches on the internet, and to be honest, the closest thing I’ve found to this little guy seems to be a Pine Warbler (Dendroica pinus).
To be sure ~ I posted my photos and asked for help from my Flickr Friends ~ and even thought the votes keep coming in ~ it does appear to be a Pine Warbler ~ Yeah. I say yeah, because that is a new addition to my life list.
